Définition intuitive

On procède de la même manière que dans la théorie des corps "classique". On se donne un certain corps différentiel K\mathbb{K} dont on note la dérivation DKD_{\mathbb{K}} et on regarde les corps KL\mathbb{K}\subset\mathbb{L} munit d’une dérivation qui prolonge celle de K\mathbb{K} à L\mathbb{L}.

Définition formelle

On dit que L\mathbb{L} est une extension différentielle de K\mathbb{K} si :

  • KL\mathbb{K}\subset \mathbb{L}
  • DLD_{\mathbb{L}} restreinte à K\mathbb{K} coincide avec DKD_{\mathbb{K}}.
Exemples
  • On a l’exemple trivial : R(X)C(X)\mathbb{R}(X)\subset \mathbb{C}(X) est une extension différentielle du corps différentiel R(X).\mathbb{R}(X).
  • On numérote les élements de Q\mathbb{Q} sous la forme d’une suite (an)nN(a_{n})_{n\in\mathbb{N}}, on peut donc considérer la suite d’extensions différentielles de R(X)\mathbb{R}(X) :
    R(X)R(X,ea0X)R(X,ea0X,,eanX)\mathbb{R}(X)\subset \mathbb{R}(X,e^{a_{0}X})\subset \cdots\subset \mathbb{R}(X,e^{a_{0}X},\cdots,e^{a_{n}X})\subset \cdotsOn a alors l’extension différentielle de R(X)\mathbb{R}(X) suivante :
    n=0+R(X,ea0X,,eanX)\bigcup_{n=0}^{+\infty}\mathbb{R}(X,e^{a_{0}X},\cdots,e^{a_{n}X})Cette solution contient d’ailleurs toutes les solutions aux équations faf=0f'-af=0 pour aQa\in\mathbb{Q}.
