A sphere is the set of points of [[Metric space|space]] at a given [[distance|distance]] $R$, called the [[radius|radius]], of a point $x_{0}$, called the [[center|center]].

##### Examples
- In 3D space, this is the familiar notion of a sphere.
- In 2D space (a plane), a sphere is a circle.
