##### Définition intuitive

La matrice adjointe d'une matrice complexe $A$ est obtenue en [[transposee-dune-matrice|transposant]] $A$, puis en [[conjugue-dun-nombre-complexe|conjuguant]] tous les coefficients. Dans le cas réel, la matrice adjointe d'une matrice $A$ correspond à la matrice transposée.

##### Définition formelle

La matrice adjointe (ou matrice transconjuguée) d'une matrice $A = (a_{i,j})_{\scriptsize{\begin{matrix}1 \leqslant i \leqslant m \\ 1 \leqslant j \leqslant n \end{matrix}}} \in \mathcal{M}_{m,n}(\C)$ est la matrice définie par $A^{*} = (\overline{a_{j,i}})_{\scriptsize{\begin{matrix}1 \leqslant i \leqslant n \\ 1 \leqslant j \leqslant m \end{matrix}}}  \in \mathcal{M}_{n,m}(\C)$
