Posons $a=2^{x+1}$ et $b=3^{x^2}$ . L’équation s’écrit
$a^3+a b=b^3+a^2$ c’est-à-dire
$(a-b)\left(a^2+a b+b^2\right)=a(a-b),$ donc
$(a-b)\left(a^2+a b+b^2-a\right)=0 .$ Le second facteur ne s’annule jamais. Il reste $a=b$ , soit $2^{x+1}=3^{x^2}$ . En passant au logarithme de base 3 et en notant $t=\log _3 2$ :
$x^2-t x-t=0, \quad x=\frac{t \pm \sqrt{t^2+4 t}}{2} .$
