On appelle système complet d’événements toute famille (Ai)i∈I(A_i)_{i\in I} d’événements de Ω\Omega telle que :

  1. ∀i,j∈I,i≠j⟹Ai∩Aj=∅,\forall i,j\in I, \qquad i\neq j \Longrightarrow A_i\cap A_j=\varnothing,
  2. ⋃i∈IAi=Ω.\bigcup_{i\in I} A_i=\Omega.
Remarques
  • Si de plus, pour tout i∈I, Ai≠∅,i\in I, \, A_i\neq\varnothing, alors (Ai)i∈I(A_i)_{i\in I} est une partition de Ω\Omega.
Exemples
