Trouver les matrices B∈Mn(R)B \in \mathcal{M}_n(\mathbb{R}) telles que ∀A∈Mn(R),AB=0⇒BA=0\forall A \in \mathcal{M}_n(\mathbb{R}), A B=0 \Rightarrow B A=0.

Montrons que
B=0ouB∈GLn(R).B=0\qquad\text{ou}\qquad B\in\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{R}).Si B=0B=0, alors BA=0BA=0 pour toute AA. Si BB est inversible, l’égalité AB=0AB=0 donne A=ABB−1=0A=ABB^{-1}=0, donc BA=0BA=0.

Posons enfin
A=u φ,c’est-aˋ-direAx=φ(x) u.A=u\,\varphi,\qquad\text{c'est-à-dire}\qquad Ax=\varphi(x)\,u .

Alors AB=0AB=0 : pour tout xx, on a Bx∈V⊆H=ker⁡φBx\in V\subseteq H=\ker\varphi, donc ABx=φ(Bx)u=0ABx=\varphi(Bx)u=0.

En revanche BA≠0BA\neq 0 : en choisissant x0x_0 avec φ(x0)=1\varphi(x_0)=1, il vient
BAx0=φ(x0) Bu=Bu≠0.BAx_0=\varphi(x_0)\,Bu=Bu\neq 0 .

■\blacksquare
