  1. Soit φ0\varphi\neq 0. Il existe aEa\in E tel que φ(a)=1\varphi(a)=1. Pour tout xEx\in E,

x=(xφ(x)a)+φ(x)a,x=\bigl(x-\varphi(x)a\bigr)+\varphi(x)a,

avec xφ(x)akerφx-\varphi(x)a\in\ker\varphi. Ainsi

E=kerφKa.E=\ker\varphi\oplus Ka.

Donc kerφ\ker\varphi est un hyperplan.

  1. Soit HH un hyperplan. Il existe une droite KaKa telle que

E=HKa.E=H\oplus Ka.

Tout xEx\in E s’écrit donc uniquement x=h+λax=h+\lambda a. Posons

φ(h+λa)=λ.\varphi(h+\lambda a)=\lambda.

Alors φ\varphi est linéaire, non nulle, et

kerφ=H.\ker\varphi=H.
