∀B∈A,δx(B)={1si x∈B,0si x∉B.\forall B\in\mathcal A, \qquad \delta_x(B) = \left \{ \begin{array}{ll} 1 & \text{si } x\in B,\\[0.3em] 0 & \text{si } x\notin B. \end{array} \right.

Remarque
  • On peut remarquer que δx(B)=1B(x)\delta_x(B) = \mathbb{1}_{B}(x).
Intégration
  • Si f:E→R‾f:E\to \overline{\mathbb{R}} est mesurable, alors
    ∫Ef dδx=f(x).\int_E f\,d\delta_x = f(x).Plus généralement, si f:E→Rf:E\to\mathbb R est intégrable par rapport à δx\delta_x, alors
    ∫Ef dδx=f(x).\int_E f\,d\delta_x = f(x).
  • En particulier,
    f∈L1(E,δx)  ⟺  ∣f(x)∣<+∞.f\in L^1(E,\delta_x) \iff |f(x)|<+\infty.
