Soit (Gi)i∈I(G_{i})_{i\in I} une famille de sous-groupes de GG indexée par un ensemble II.
\newline
On note ee l’élément neutre de GG.
Tout sous-groupe de GG contient ee, donc : ∀i∈I,e∈Gi\forall i \in I, e \in G_{i}
Autrement dit : e∈⋂i∈IGie \in \bigcap\limits_{i \in I} G_{i}
\newline
Soient xx et yy deux éléments de ⋂i∈IGi\bigcap\limits_{i \in I} G_{i}.
∀i∈I,(x,y)∈(Gi)2\forall i \in I, (x,y) \in (G_{i})^2
Comme, pour tout i∈Ii \in I, GiG_{i} est un sous-groupe de GG, on a x∗y−1∈Gix * y^{-1} \in G_{i}
Ainsi x∗y−1∈⋂i∈IGix * y^{-1} \in \bigcap\limits_{i\in I} G_{i}
\newline
On conclut que ⋂i∈IGi\bigcap\limits_{i \in I} G_{i} est un sous-groupe de GG car contient ee et est stable par multiplication et passage à l’inverse.
