Let uu be a complex sequence such that u0>0u_{0}>0 and un+1=sin(un)u_{n+1}=\sin(u_{n}).

  1. Show that uu converges toward 00.
  2. Define vn:=1un+121un2v_{n}:=\frac{1}{u_{n+1}^{2}}-\frac{1}{u_{n}^{2}} for all n0n\geqslant0. Show that vv converges toward a non-vanishing real number ll that you should explicit.
  3. Deduce finally, using Cesaro theorem (see reference below), that
    n3unn+1.\sqrt{\frac{n}{3}}\cdot u_{n}\underset{n\to+\infty}{\longrightarrow}1.

1nk=0n1ϕ(un+1)ϕ(un)=ϕ(un)ϕ(0)nϕ(un)n1\frac{1}{n} \sum_{k=0}^{n-1} \phi(u_{n+1})-\phi(u_{n}) = \frac{\phi(u_{n})-\phi(0)}{n} \sim \frac{\phi(u_{n})}{n} \sim 1Donc ϕ(un)n\phi(u_{n}) \sim n, on peut donc en déduire un équivalent de unu_{n}.

Pour trouver ϕ\phi, on note d’abord g(x)=f(x)xg(x)=f(x)-x, tel que un+1un=g(un)u_{n+1}-u_{n}=g(u_{n}), puis on suppose l’existence d’un tel ϕ\phi dérivable.
Par un DL à l’ordre 1, il vient:
ϕ(un+1)=ϕ(un)+(un+1un)ϕ(un)+on+(un+1un)=ϕ(un)+g(un))ϕ(un)+on+(g(un))\phi(u_{n+1})=\phi(u_{n})+(u_{n+1}-u_{n})\phi'(u_{n})+\underset{n \to +\infty}{\mathrm{o}}({u_{n+1}-u_{n})} =\phi(u_{n})+g(u_{n)})\phi'(u_{n})+\underset{n \to +\infty}{\mathrm{o}}(g(u_{n}))Donc ϕ(un+1)ϕ(un)g(un))ϕ(un)1\phi(u_{n+1})-\phi(u_{n}) \sim g(u_{n)})\phi'(u_{n}) \sim 1
On pose donc ϕ\phi une primitive d’un équivalent de 1/g1/g quand x(limn+un)x \to (\lim_{n \to +\infty} u_n).
Réciproquement, si ϕ\phi est une primitive d’un équivalent de 1/g1/g quand x(limn+un)x \to (\lim_{n \to +\infty} u_n), on vérifie aisément que ϕ\phi est dérivable et ϕ(un+1)ϕ(un)n+1\phi(u_{n+1})-\phi(u_{n}) \xrightarrow[n \to +\infty]{} 1 par construction.

Application à l’exercice:
On posef(x)=sin(x)f(x)=\sin(x) et g(x)=f(x)xg(x)=f(x)-x
On vérifie par récurrence immédiate que nN,sin(un)]0,π2[\forall n \in \mathbb{N},sin(u_{n}) \in \left]0, \frac{\pi}{2}\right[

Comme 1/gx06x31/g \underset{x \to 0}{\sim} -\frac{6}{x^{3}}, on pose ϕ(x)=3x2\phi(x)=\frac{3}{x^{2}}.
Il vient ϕ(un)n\phi(u_{n}) \sim n (d’après la démonstration ci-dessus), donc 3un2n\frac{3}{u_{n}^{2}} \sim n.

Donc un3nu_{n} \sim \sqrt{\frac{3}{n}}
