Définition intuitive

La notion de dérivée d’une fonction vectorielle est une extension de celle de fonction f:R↦Rf:\mathbb{R}\mapsto \mathbb{R}

Définition formelle

Soit II un intervalle de R\mathbb R et soit p∈N∗p\in\mathbb N^*.
Soit f:I→Rpf:I\to\mathbb R^p une fonction vectorielle.
On dit que f:I→Rpf:I\to\mathbb R^p est dérivable en a∈Ia\in I lorsque la limite
lim⁡h→0f(a+h)−f(a)h\lim_{h\to0} \frac{f(a+h)-f(a)}{h}existe dans Rp\mathbb R^p. Dans ce cas,
f′(a)=(f1′(a),…,fp′(a)).f'(a) = \bigl(f_1'(a),\dots,f_p'(a)\bigr).

Autrement dit, une fonction vectorielle est dérivable si et seulement si chacune de ses composantes est dérivable.

Vocabulaire

On dit que ff est dérivable sur II lorsque pour tout a∈Ia\in I, ff est dérivable en aa.
