Une matrice inversible est une matrice carrée AA pour laquelle il existe une matrice A1A^{-1} telle que
AA1=A1A=InAA^{-1}=A^{-1}A=I_{n}InI_{n} est la matrice identité d’ordre nn.

Remarques :
  • On dit alors que A1A^{-1} est l’inverse de AA.
